Fall Brunch Ideas

Fall Cheese board: Fall brunch ideas

I’ve been wanting to host a fall brunch with some mom friends for a long time.  Now that the kids are in school, I finally put it on the calendar! I jokingly said to one mom friend, “This is the stereotype of stay-at-home moms, why not just do what they think we’re doing!” In all seriousness, all moms fill their days with serving others – booking doctor appointments, grocery runs, laundry – it’s nice to just unwind and do something a little different.  Also, I love an excuse to make a cheese plate!

As you know, I like to keep to the seasonal or event theme that we’re celebrating when putting together a cheese board.  Trader Joe’s makes it so easy for me with all the fun options they have for fall.  One of my very favorites, actually, Marielle’s all time favorite is the Cinnamon Toscano cheese.  When this comes out, stock up.  I didn’t realize it was seasonal last year and didn’t get enough.  Beyond the cheese plate, here are the other items I served at this fall brunch….

Fall Brunch Menu:

Deviled Eggs:  I attempted to make them look like pumpkins, but didn’t completely pull it off {as usual!}.  I found some inspiration on Pinterest here and here.

Cheese Plate:

  • Cinnamon Toscano cheese
  • Cranberry Goat Cheese
  • Spanish Cocktail Mix
  • Pomegranate Seeds
  • Sliced Honey crisp Apples
  • Pecans
  • Salumi
  • Prosciutto
  • Moon Cheese
  • Roasted Eggplant and Red Pepper spread
  • Pumpkin Cranberry Crisps
  • Seat Salt crackers

Cruciferous Crunch Salad with Sunflower Seeds and a Honey Tahini dressing.  TJ’s posted this warm salad recipe here.

Sandwiches: Wine Country Chicken Salad on Sourdough Bread with Arugula

Drinks:

  • Mimosas
  • Wine white
  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Still water with lemon slices
  • Seltzers: Spindrift Raspberry Lime

If you plan to host a ladies luncheon like this, I would keep the food light.  I starting freaking out that I didn’t have enough and planned for another sandwich option.  When I ran out of time, I had to ditch it.  It actually worked out for the better.

To add to the fun of the event, I showcased the new Beautycounter Holiday Collection! It was a great way to check out all the goodies available for the holiday season, find a new lipstick shade and think of some gift ideas.  I can’t wait to host again!
