Olive Green Style
I was recently looking back at a few posts and realized I was in a summer rut. Maybe I got too excited for the summer holidays, or maybe one too many people told me “red was my color”. Whatever the reason, I had to break out of the patriotic color palette that dominated my summer. Of course they are classic colors. And yes, I love wearing red, white and blue. But sometimes you just got to mix things up, right?
So let’s talk olive green. Now, I am not a camo girl, but I do love a great olive color. One of my first loves are these Tory Burch Olive Canvas Heels. I remember I was still working at Revlon and told a co-worker I just had to have them. Also, when I gave Fabletics a try, I made the right move picking up a pair of olive leggings. But after wearing the above outfit, I am now totally convinced I need more of this green in my life.
After our family vacation at the beach, we were stopping in Philadelphia to meet up with good friends. I was excited to go to Harp & Crown and wanted something fun to wear. After my recent cut & color at PR Partners Downtown, I popped in Forever 21 – it actually may have been my first time in the store as my driver’s license has allowed me to legally consumer alcohol for quite some time. I didn’t have much time, but I zeroed in on these olive wide legged pants. I tried them on and at $25, I couldn’t say no.
Since this was my first wide leg look, I wanted a tighter body suit to balance out the bagginess. I got this white one from Amazon, but there are lots of great options {like this one which comes in a few colors}. When it came to accessories, I wanted gold. I added my three chain Something Navy necklace {I hope she brings this back with her new line!} and some gold round earrings. I then paired it with an old pair of Dolce Vita heels but next time I plan to rock those Tory Burch’s!
I did wear this for a night out with friends, but these pants are totally versatile to dress down as well. A casual tee and my gold sandals is a perfect everyday outfit.
What are your thoughts on olive green? Do you wear this color often?
