Fall bar cart, thanksgiving bar cart, hosting thanksgiving bar cart essentials, what you need to hosts thanksgiving this year It’s fall o’clock somewhere! Ok, maybe that was a bad mom joke. But there’s nothing bad about decorating for fall. This year, I amped it up and finally decorated a fall bar cart! It was so fun and easy to do.

We’ve had this bar cart in our living room and dining room area for a while, but typically keep it as is. I’ve had visions to decorate it for every season, but never made the time to do it.

This year, it was the week before our anniversary and I was taking out our favorite Champagne, Veuve Clicquot, and realized how the bottle color scheme would be a great fall decoration. It really inspired me!

How to Style a Fall Bar Cart

The first question you need to ask yourself is: what’s your fall decorating preference style. Are you more of a harvest, neutral, autumnal theme person? Or do you prefer the Halloween direction with cobwebs, spiders, and bats. Think about that first and then go through these. I’m more of a neutral fall decorator. So here’s I’m sharing what I did below.

autumnal decor ideas

Eucalyptus

I absolutely LOVE eucalyptus for fall decorating. And I even keep it up through the holidays. I started with this eucalyptus garland and weaved it around the bar cart.

Small Pumpkins

I mainly use white pumpkins in my fall home decor like around my mantle, but I felt the bar cart was a great place to bring in those orange, copper, and bronze tones.

Autumnal Colored Alcohol

As I mentioned, I was really inspired by the orange and dark green colors of the Veuve bottles so they were prominently displayed. I also kept some bourbon and whiskey, which make great fall cocktails.

Wooden Vase

How awesome is it that Studio McGee did a collaboration with Target?!! We love McGee and even that small wall art hanging over the bar cart is from there. I picked this wooden vase up a few weeks ago and thought it would be a great way to display dried hydrangea and eucalyptus.

What I’m Drinking This Fall + Cocktails to Try

I’m more of a wine drinker than a mixed drink person. But I do like to try something that sounds seasonally delicious. If you are hosting Thanksgiving this year or any fall event, a pretty autumnal bar cart would be a great way to entertain. Here’s how to stock it.

Let’s start with the wines from Jeff’s last wine.com orders.

  • Lava Cap / Cabernet Sauvignon / CA
  • Sangre de Toro / Blend / Spain
  • Frank Family / Cabernet Sauvignon / CA
  • Ehlers Estate / Cabernet Sauvignon / CA
  • Raymond / Cabernet Sauvignon / CA

Now on to the fun cocktails to try.

  • Apple Cider Mimosas: just add a splash of local apple cider to a cava or Prosecco
  • Cinnamon Maple Whiskey Sour: this sounds so good and has all the fall ingredients. I found it on this site.
  • Old Fashions: this is a classic and Jeff’s favorite!
  • Other ingredients to bring to the mix include pears, ginger, pumpkin spice rimmed glasses, apples, and lots of herbs.

Bar Cart Must Haves

Decorating is the fun part, but I also want you to be fully prepared if you are hosting this fall and holiday season.  Here is a checklist of bar cart essentials.

The Bar Cart

You need to start somewhere! I found this gold one on Wayfair. There are also these great finds on West Elm Amazon, and Target.

Glasswear

I only keep tumbler glasses on my bar cart. But I am fully stocked on wine glasses, champagne flutes, martini glasses, and stemless glasses.  Another great fall decorating accessories  are copper mugs, especially if you are into Moscow Mules. I’ve linked where mine glassware is from, but I’ve also picked up many stemware favorites from IKEA. They are great if you don’t want to spend a lot of money and if you are hosting many guests.

Bar Essentials for Mixed Drinks

If you are looking to get a little extra with your cocktails, you’ll need:

You can many of these in a set like this pretty copper one.
