I am so excited to share this home reveal with you!  It’s been a while in the making I’ve been mentioning the process on my blog and newsletters, but it’s finally here. My Living Room + Dining Room Reveal.  Yay!

First let me back up, my friend Heather Disabella and I met when our kids were in a co-op together.  As part of the co-op, the parents had to have duty days, basically the teacher for the day. Heather was one of those moms who made the time watching 8 toddlers fun and easy.

When we moved into our new house, we were pretty confident that we could decorate it ourselves.  We painted the walls, made some new purchases, and started to fill up the rooms.  Though we started off feeling great, we soon realized our limitations. We were checking boxes to complete a room, but not being super thoughtful on how everything worked together.  In our rush to get things done we were just throwing things together and hoping it looked “interesting”.

Thankfully, Heather helped us get there! She offered her help and services to really make this space into the house of our dreams.  We decided the two areas in desperate need of her vision were the first floor living room and dining room, followed by the Master Bedroom {coming soon in a seperate post!}.

The design process kicked off on the main living floor. This space is really like a great room. While there is the perfect amount of space for each room to have a distinct look and feel, the open concept design flows them into each other.  We wanted them to really compliment each other and work together.  For example, I LOVE the color blue for my home and Heather helped us find pieces that made the color pop without becoming overwhelming.  It’s so pretty how the blue velvet chairs in the dining room work with the blue rug in the living room.

There are too many favorite pieces to call out, but we just couldn’t be happier every time we walk through the door and take in the beautiful sight of our home. Looking forward to hosting more dinner parties, get togethers and celebrations for years to come!
