August has been sipped away like a bottle of wine. Thank you Taylor Swift for that line. I’ve been singing it all month! I definitely enjoyed this summer, but fall is just such a great time of year so I’m excited it’s around the corner. I feel like with the Nordstrom sale this month, fall outfits are all anyone can talk about. But you still need those transition pieces before autumn truly hits. So today, I’m sharing a few end of summer outfit ideas to bridge your wardrobe and make your favorites last longer.
14 CUTE END OF SUMMER OUTFITS
I have a few key pieces that I used to mix and match to get 14 looks.
MIDI SKIRT LOOKS
This black knit midi skirt is from Free People. I just love how easy and casual it is. It’s one of those items that can be super casual with sneakers or wear to work. Once it get really cold, it will also work great with your sweaters.
Last year, I picked up this leopard print midi skirt and wore it all August – to Miami and Paris – and well into the winter. I really like it paired with a white puff sleeve top and white shoes.

Blazer Outfits
Wearing a blazer with denim shorts just seems so badass to me. It’s actually a really great look for date night or girls night out. You’ll look super polished and also prepared for when it’s either too hot or too chilly.
Having a patterned blazer like a plaid or houndstooth will really give you that fall feel. While a white blazer still gives you that summer vibe. You can also make it into a great winter white look.
If cut off shorts aren’t your style, try paper bag shorts or even Bermuda shorts. Determine which length feels right for you!

End of Summer Dresses
This dress was a great Amazon find! For warm weather days, it’s breezy enough to feel comfortable plus I have the sleeves rolled up here. It comes in a few colors – yellow, navy, caramel, etc, – so you can really go full fall if you like. Last fall, I paired it with high knee suede boots and revived so many compliments!
For sizing, I’m wearing a size small.
If you still want to extend the life of your white summer dresses, pairing them with slides or sneakers will make a great September look. Throwing on a denim jacket will complete the outfit.

Lightweight Cardigans
Just like the blazers, cardigans are a great layering piece. But definitely more casual. It’s all about the mixing and matching for the day. In cooler days it can be denim jeans and ankle booties or on warmer days a lightweight cargo can like this one from Amazon looks cute with shorts. Again, these are all outfit ideas. You make them your own!!

Shorts + Sweater Outfit
I love a neutral sweater. I picked this Everlane mesh sweater up earlier in the year and it has proven itself to be so versatile! The mesh aspect of it gives you a great breathable material. It’s not see through though, so you can wear it just over a nude bra.
So it’s a perfect match to wear with denim shorts! This is a pretty typical evening look for me in the summer. When the sun goes down and you grab a sweater while sitting outside. But during September and moving into the cooler months, you can keep rocking those shorts!

Neutral Cami + Denim Outfit
In the past, I have filled my closet with bright colors. My summer go to shades are red and blue. But after my last milestone birthday and just really loving neutrals, I’m really doubling down on clothes that will last.
That’s why you’re seeing so many black and beige outfits from me! I just really love the combo. It’s classic, simple, and always looks great.
When you have neutral basics – jeans, camisoles, sweaters, T-shirts, blouses and pumps – in white, black, gray, and beige, you’ll always have something to wear!

Sleeveless Knit Top + White Denim
For our annual family vacation to the Jersey shore, I purchased this striped knit top. I wanted to wear it more but struggled with the material on a 90 degree day. But I know those amazing 70-75 degree days are just what I need.
Remember, keep wearing those summer whites after Labor Day! You’ll miss out on too many good outfits if you listen to that outdated rule.

Paper Bag Pants Look
I fell in love with paper bag shorts this summer so it’s no surprise that paper bag pants are on my list. This is another great Amazon find. I’m wearing it here with my favorite puff sleeve sweater top, but it would looks great with so many other looks. Like a white blouse, cami, crop top, graphic tees, and print tops like stripes or animal prints.

Long Sleeve Bodysuit
Another great night out option! This bodysuit also comes in a few colors and is actually pretty comfortable. This pretty peachy color is a nice end of summer shade as well. For another style, I’ve paired it with the black Madewell jeans and loved the look.

OK, I had so much fun sharing these end of summer outfits and could probably keep going but I need to wrap things up. Hehe.
