There is one beauty product I cannot live without. I’ve mentioned it in numerous posts throughout the blog, but never gave it the highlight it truly deserves. This holy grail favorite, is none other than the Beautycounter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer.
It was actually my very first Beautycounter purchase. I mentioned that I was looking into the brand a few years ago in this post, but wasn’t sure what product to start with. I was listening to the podcast, Fat Mascara, when Jean Godfrey June, the current beauty Director at goop mentioned this as one of her absolute favorites. So I placed an order with a friend who had just become a consultant.
Let’s just say I was immediately hooked. It definitely opened my eyes to adding more clean beauty to my makeup and skincare routine. But let’s break down all the info for you to make an informed opinion for yourself.
Beautycounter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer Review
As always, I give my honest opinion here on FBM. Like I said, this is a product I have been using for years and I also wear it every single day. So I wouldn’t tell you to try something that I didn’t love myself.
Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer
Prior to using the Beautycounter Tinted Moisturizer I was using Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer. I liked it, but was never really wowed by it. Plus, it wasn’t clean, particularly the sunscreen protection ingredients.
Benefits Of Using The Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer
Daily Sun Protection
Radiance Boosting ingredients
I am all about brightening my skin. This Dew Skin gives that glow I’m looking for. How? It’s infused with a triple complex of black currant seed oil, peony root extract, and vitamin C for increased appearance of firmness and radiance over time.
It’s a Time Saver
On your busiest days, this product will quickly become your best friend. Rather than applying a moisturizer, SPF, and some coverage to your face, this product has everything you need. It’s actually my primary “makeup look” for summer days. No wonder it works so well with the Flawless in Five set.
How to Use it
Find your shade
The Beautycounter Dew Skin comes in 6 shades that ranges from fair to deep skin tones. I keep both the Number 2 and Number 3 in my makeup bag. In the summer, when my skin is a little more sun kissed, the darker shade works better for me.
Easily Apply
One pump is all you need to get the perfect skin tint. I apply to my finger tips and gently blend all over my face.
Layer as Needed
I usually apply at least my Vitamin C serum before Dew Skin. If you like to add more hydration, apply your favorite moisturizer. Additionally, you would like more coverage, add a lightweight foundation.
And there you have it friends! I hope you check out the Beautycounter Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer! I know you’ll love it as much as I do. And if you don’t, simply return it within 60 days for a full refund. You can learn more about the non-fuss return process HERE.
Important Dew Skin Ingredients
Ingredients are important, especially in clean makeup products. Keeping things non-toxic is not the easiest task so lots of thought goes into a product like the Dew Skin Moisturizer. Here are a few you should know and why you need them.
Peony Flower Root Extract
Peonies, just like roses, have been used for healing and medicine for centuries. Peony root extract is an antioxidant {which I talk about in length in this post} which means it will help boost your skin’s clarity and enhance skin brightness. You’ll see the ingredients listed as black current peony root flower and currant peony flower root.
aurantium bergamia ( bergamot fruit)
You want your products to be free of synthetic fragrances. But a light, natural scent is a nice touch. Bergamot fruit oil is given a 1-2 EWG rating, meaning that it’s safe and non-harmful. Same for the ingredients citrus aurantium dulcis (orange)
dulcis sweet almond oil
Almond oil is a common ingredient in many beauty products. It has skin healing properties and contains Vitamin A, a retinol to promote firmer, smoother looking skin. You’ll also see this ingredient as prunus amygdalus dulcis sweet.
sodium hyaluronate
Sodium Hyaluronate mimics hyaluronic acid, which our bodies produce naturally for the skin. It’s provides moisturizers for benefits and is also considered non-toxic by the EWG.
One last thing – for a limited time, a small range of Beautycounter products, including this one, are available in store and online at Sephora. More details in this post.
